The Black Fashion Movement LAUNCHES FEBRUARY 2020

The Black Fashion Movement SM launched in February 2020 as a grassroots social media campaign to celebrate, promote and support Black-owned fashion brands during Black History Month. The movement took root and evolved. We are now a community of fashion designers, entrepreneurs, stylists, fashion industry executives and fashion enthusiasts that share the vision of normalizing buying and incorporating Black-owned fashion brands into our everyday wardrobes. A resource for fashion industry insiders, celebrity stylists, designers and authors, we host monthly roundtables to educate, connect, and celebrate our industry and audience. Our mission is to normalize fashion collections and entities designed, developed, and owned by BIPOC populations by cultivating meaningful partnerships, developing innovative strategies, and executing high-level events. In 2021, the movement continues to grow with our inaugural Luxury Shopping Experiences, created to connect emerging Black designers with trend-conscious shoppers in a unique retail experience.

MISSION: To normalize fashion collections and entities designed, developed, and owned by BIPOC populations by cultivating meaningful partnerships, developing innovative strategies, and executing high-level events. In 2021, the movement continues to grow with our inaugural Luxury Shopping Experiences, created to connect emerging Black designers with trend-conscious shoppers around the country. 

VISION: To create a luxury retail environment for Black-owned brands to host a pop-up shop/trunk show-style shopping experience.

FEATURING:  10-15 Black-owned fashion brands at each event.

BFM and Trademark Property have joined forces to create a luxury retail shopping experience showcasing Black-owned fashion brands at Trademark Property around the country. The inaugural event will take place at Galleria Dallas in June 16-20, 2021 in honor Juneteenth. 

Each event will feature 10-15 emerging and established brands that have a prominent and active customer base. Brand categories include: 

• Women’s Designer/ Modern Luxe/ Contemporary/Shoes

• Men’s Designer/ Suiting/ Contemporary/Shoes

• Accessories/ Handbags/ Jewelry/ Hats

Selected designers ideally do not have their own retail space. They are seeking opportunities to penetrate new markets, attract new customers, and promote their products in a luxury retail environment. This event will increase foot traffic for the Galleria Dallas, sales opportunities for the designers, and positively impacting the local Dallas economy.
